Himba's story
Both Himba’s parents died when she was young, leaving her caring for a family of four. Although Himba was exceptionally bright, the responsibilities of supporting a family meant that she couldn’t continue her education. Himba’s potential was spotted by her local church where she was a volunteer leader, and that’s where we stepped in. A scholarship enabled her to graduate with a diploma in social work, and she is now mentoring other young leaders and overseeing the development of kids’ clubs. Himba continues to support her own family, while using her exceptional leadership skills to impact more than 2,000 vulnerable children all over Zambia.
